Overview

Tucked away on Jl. Beringin Raya in the heart of Maguwoharjo, Teras Kemarin is a coffee shop that invites visitors to slow down and savor moments. This cozy and glass-wrapped space draws in natural light, lending the interior a calm and inviting atmosphere. Without air conditioning, the fresh breeze keeps the air comfortable, making it a fitting spot for afternoon coffee breaks or evening hangouts.

The heart of Teras Kemarin lies in its distinctive coffee creations. Their signature beverages, such as Kopi Kemarin and Kopi Riang Gembira, cleverly combine traditional Indonesian spices like kayumanis and sereh with expertly brewed espresso, offering a unique taste experience that stands apart from typical cafes. For those hesitant about coffee, the menu also features creative soda-based drinks like Berry Crush and Rosella, refreshing choices that shine in both presentation and flavor.

Food-wise, Teras Kemarin offers a focused menu spotlighting rice bowls and spaghetti aglio e olio. The rice bowls arrive generously portioned, often loaded with flavorful proteins such as chicken katsu or tuna. While the spaghetti delivers satisfying fullness, its strong garlic flavor and preparation style have drawn mixed reactions. Snack options like churros and cireng introduce local flair, though some guests have noted a surprising kick in the churros’ aftertaste.

The open-concept layout encourages social connection while maintaining a relaxed vibe, making it appealing to a diverse crowd—from locals seeking a midday retreat to travelers craving authentic yet innovative flavors. Although the absence of air conditioning might require some patience during hotter hours, features like accessible electric sockets cater well to students and remote workers.

Overall, Teras Kemarin emerges as a thoughtful blend of traditional Indonesian ingredients and modern café culture. Its emphasis on aromatic, spiced coffees paired with well-portioned savory dishes crafts an experience worth exploring for those who cherish both flavor and ambiance. Whether you come for the signature coffee mocktails or the hearty rice bowls, this spot promises a genuine taste of Yogyakarta’s vibrant culinary scene.

The coffee was good especially the fruity one. Rice bowl has good portion and good amount of meat. Eventough without air conditioning, the air is still cool and since all made from glass, the light was also very good in the afternoon. Definitely will come here again!

Main dish is only rice bowl and spaghetti aglio olio. Both dishes are way too much garlic. The spaghetti is disappointing since its cut into tiny pieces and taste too much garlic, feels like eating cheap noodle sold in market. Portion wise it will make you full. I ordered churros too but it have weird after taste, weird to eat sweets but have spicy taste and it's very spicy. Drink option is specialized in coffee and spices drinks. I'm not fan of adventuring new drink but thankfully every main dish will get glass of water. When we visited there's neighbour that start to burn trash right in front of the restaurant, really bad experience to have. It's an open restaurant but I think they should at least give a fan on each corner because it so hot. Plus point they have electric socket on each table.

Kopi kemarin has unique taste. Espresso mixed with Nipis, Kayumanis, Sere and others... different way to enjoy the coffee.

A brand new cozy place for your happy life. They present coffee mocktail as the signature drink. Based on cold brew and the special fruits liquid and bitters. I wonder how you can resist that things?? Warm ambience, quite enough for healing your body and soul from your activity, the staff are so polite, their smile when give me greeting so warm. You will love this place, i swear :) Just visit if you dare :)

Randomly choosing this plase based on the Google rating and reviews. We came here at noon, few minutes after they opened. And it's still Fasting Month, so it's empty. The staffs were nice to us. We ordered a lot for the drink: Berey Crush, rosella drink, Kopi Riang Gembira (their signature coffee). The soda-based drinks are super refreshing! And it's beautifully served, so it's worth an Instastory post. Their signature iced-coffee taste uniquely good, but a bit too sweet for me. I think you can order it with less sugar or additional shot. For the food, in the first round, we ordered tuna rice-bowl which came a bit too long and turned out to be too salty for my friend. I ordered spaghetti beef aglio olio that tasted OK and the portion was enough. We also ordered mix platter that we finished quickly. In the second round, we ordered cireng and Brulee Bomb--something round made of mashed potato with veggie and meat as the filling. It came in 2 pieces huge round. The cireng was good and the later would've tasted better if there's no weird smell from the meat. It's still edible though. However, you should note that there's no AC inside nor outside. I came at midday and it's fine, but I think it's better to come later in the afternoon or evening. Note that the parking space is not really spacious, but it's OK.

I thried one of their signature coffee: Kopi Kemarin. Actually it was nice but not recommended for people who have ulcer. It is mixed of coffee, soda and herbs. This place doesn't have AC room, so it could be a little hot when you visit at the daytime.

A new cafe. The place is good enough to chit chat or work. Their mocktail and milkshake quite good. The milkshake is creamy and sweet. While, the mocktail is fresh and a little bit sour since it has lime in it (berry mocktail).
